great mature works. this magnificent
gift, of which Pumicestone Passage
1957 is part, is an invaluable
contribution to the gallery’s
collection of works by this eminent
australian artist.

fairweather during the 1950s were
gifted to the gallery’s collection
by the Josephine ulrick and win
schubert foundation for the arts,
through the queensland art gallery
foundation. during that turbulent
decade, fairweather travelled through
queensland to darwin, embarked on
