DID YOU KNOW?
• Each snowflake is
made up of a different
symmetrical pattern.
• Every tiger has a unique
pattern of stripes.
Patterns made by people
People love to make patterns through art, on the fabric
of our clothes, in the designs of buildings and bridges,
and even on blocks of chocolate!
Throughout history, people have used patterns in
art, decoration and design to help better understand
their world.
Today, people continue to use patterns
from the past and they also create new ones.
Patterns aren’t just for decoration.
In architecture,
the patterns of bricks and other materials help to
make buildings strong.
