‘The China Project’ presents three unique points of view on
contemporary Chinese art. ‘Three Decades: The Contemporary
Chinese Collection’ presents over 140 extraordinary works by
48 artists from the 1980s to the present, drawn primarily from the
Queensland Art Gallery Collection. Coinciding with this exhibition
is ‘Zhang Xiaogang: Shadows in the Soul’, a solo exhibition by
one of China’s most eminent painters, and a commissioned
project, ‘William Yang: Life Lines’, which focuses on the artist’s
individual and family history as a Chinese–Australian.
