Lines of Descent: the Family in Contemporary Asian Art

Developed to support a travelling exhibition of contemporary Asian art drawn from the the Collection of the Queensland Art Gallery. The theme of this exhibition is "the family".


Problem-Wisdom: an Installation by Kamin Lertchaiprasert

An online interpretation of a sculptural installation by the Thai artist, Kamin Lertchaiprasert, which was exhibited at the Second Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, in 1996, before being acquired for the Queensland Art Gallery's Collection.


William Robinson

Developed to coincide with the 2001-2002 exhibition ‘William Robinson – A Retrospective’, which celebrated the work of this senior Queensland artist.


Fortitude: New Art from Queensland

An exhibition featuring the work of ten young Queensland artists, presented in association with the Engergex Brisbane Festival 2000.


A Long Life: Restoration of the See Poy Family Portraits

A collaborative conservation and research project between the Queensland Art Gallery and the Innisfail and District Historical Society.

Lady Woodcarvers of Rockhampton

A strong tradition of ornate woodcarving by women emerged in Central Queensland during the first few decades of the 20th Century. This website presents a survey of work by 13 women woodcarvers.

Old Fashioned Dance: the Art of Ken Thaiday

Ken Thaiday is a senior contemporary Torres Strait Islander artist. This website presents a survey of his work within the context of history, culture and traditions of the Torres Strait Islands.
