Pip Haydon was born in Goondiwindi in 1968. She combines a nursing career with visual arts practice, having graduated with first class honours in Visual Arts from the Queensland University of Technology in 1997. She has had four solo exhibitions since 1997 and was included in the 1999 exhibition ‘Avant-gardism for Children’ at the University Art Museum, University of Queensland, Brisbane, and the Monash University Gallery, Melbourne. Haydon won the Churchie Prize for emerging artists in 1998 and, in 1999, was awarded an Arts Queensland Individual Project Grant. She has recently spent time studying in New York, after being awarded the Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship.
