Spend Sunday afternoon soaking up the sun at QAG at the second Endless Summer Sunday event. Revisit the era of mid-century cool with a performance and interactive lesson from Empire Swing, and an old-school glamour demonstration with Mistress Chrissy from the Lindy Charm School for Girls. With West Coast-inspired cuisine and homemade lemonade from the QAG Cafe, transport yourself to the golden age of California without leaving Brisbane. Other highlights include:
12.00pm | Collecting California Modern
Hear from Lisa Enright, owner of vintage boutique Atomic Martini, about her devotion to mid-20th century fashion. Exhibition ticket required.
2.30pm | Talking California Modern: The History of Jeans
Dr Chris McAuliffe, art historian, examines the significance of this classic symbol of the casual western lifestyle in popular culture and art.
