QUILTY 29 JUNE – 13 OCTOBER 2019 | GOMA Organised by the Art Gallery of South Australia, the first major survey exhibition in a decade of one of Australia’s most acclaimed contemporary artists, Ben Quilty, will extend from his early reflections on initiation rituals performed by young Australian men to his experience as an official war artist in Afghanistan and his campaign to save the lives of Bali Nine pair Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran. This exhibition will profile a life that was immersed in art — her own and that of those she supported — with a focus on the formative part of her career in Brisbane.
