BIFF 2018 celebrated the best new feature films and documentaries from around the world alongside fresh Australian shorts, curated thematic and geographic threads, talks, industry workshops and special events. The Festival’s opening film was the Queensland-made Celeste 2018, and its patrons were acclaimed director Bruce Beresford and award- winning producer Sue Milliken ao . BIFF 2018 was presented city-wide with partner venues including Event Cinemas (Brisbane City Myer Centre), Five Star Cinemas (New Farm Six Cinemas and the Elizabeth Picture Theatre), Reading Cinemas Newmarket, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane Powerhouse and the State Library of Queensland. QAGOMA will continue to present the Festival in 2019 and 2020.
