YAYOI KUSAMA: L I FE I S THE HEART OF A RAINBOW 4 NOVEMBER 201 7 – 1 1 FEBRUARY 2018 | GOMA Yayoi Kusama’s unique perspective, irrepressibly expressed across a career of more than 60 years of beguiling creation, has made her a pre-eminent figure in twenty-first-century art. Her long relationship with QAGOMA continues in this exhibition curated in partnership with the National Gallery Singapore. A focused survey of Kusama’s vast body of work since the 1950s, it explores her key motifs, her engagement with the body, and her conception of space. It includes early painterly experiments, a multi-decade presentation of her celebrated ‘net’ paintings, performance, soft-sculpture, assemblage, iconic ‘infinity rooms’, large-scale installations, and an encompassing presentation of the latest paintings from the ongoing ‘My Eternal Soul’ series.
