Daytime highlights included a drop-in workshop with artist Souliya Phoumivong, where visitors could create a stop-motion animation using plasticine; an interactive dance show by Dance Masala, exploring the complex aesthetic, artistic and cultural experience of Bollywood dance; and ‘Let’s make noise!’ interactive music tours with John Patterson from The Grates, which invited visitors to explore APT9 artworks through sound. At the end of each day, the Brisbane Bougainville community performed songs and dances from across the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, supported by the rhythmic sounds of the Bamboo Band playing PVC pipes with thongs. A special festival edition of Up Late brought QAG and GOMA to life with live music across multiple stages featuring Brisbane’s May Lyn, Indonesian duo Bottlesmoker, Papua New Guinea-born soul singer Ngaiire and the award-winning Adelaide duo Electric Fields. The night also featured DJs, workshops, talks, tours and pop-up performances by Radha La Bia. 35 PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
