The Gallery wishes to express its immense gratitude by acknowledging the crucial role of many contributors. The Queensland Government, Founding Supporter of the APT, has championed this flagship contemporary art series since its inception in 1993 and continues to make this ongoing triennial dedicated to contemporary Asian, Pacific and Australian art possible. The support from our Strategic Partner, Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), has been vital in promoting APT9 nationally and internationally. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body, and also assisted by the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy, an initiative of the Australian federal, state and territory governments. We thank our Principal Partner, the Australian Government for continued support of APT. The Australia Council remains one of the APT’s longstanding supporters, and its contribution enables the Gallery to undertake essential research throughout the Asia Pacific region. It also supports the Interlocutor Program, which engaged nine external curators and experts from the region for APT9, and the International Visitors Program, which brought 12 key international arts directors and curators to the exhibition’s opening weekend. All these activities expand and develop the reach of the Asia Pacific Triennial series and promote Australian art internationally. APT9 received unprecedented backing through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and its bilateral agencies — the Australia–Korea Foundation, the Australia–Japan Foundation, the Australia–ASEAN Council and the Council for Australian–Arab Relations — as well as significant grant funding through the Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grant, Gordon Darling Foundation, the Japan Foundation, the Ishibashi Foundation and Creative New Zealand. We thank our grantors for their continued support. We sincerely thank UAP for their continued support of the Gallery — and of APT9 as a Major Partner — as well as Airline Partner Virgin Australia, Hotel Partner Emporium Hotel South Bank and Wine Partner Yering Station. Support from our Principal Benefactor, the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation (TFFF), enabled the Gallery to present APT9 Kids, which featured eight projects by exhibiting artists seen by more than 132 800 children. This assistance from the TFFF also allowed the Gallery to take APT9 Kids on Tour to 111 regional and remote venues across Queensland. The Gallery also thanks our Cultural Partners Singapore Art Museum, Dhaka Art Summit and the University of the South Pacific, and Supporting Partners Luxxbox and the Gallery’s Chairman’s Circle. The Marketing and PR campaign for ATP9 was integral to the exhibition’s success and was significantly boosted by our valued Tourism and Media Partners: Brisbane Marketing, JCDecaux, Brisbane Airport Corporation, Singapore Airlines, Schwartz Media and Southern Cross Austereo through Hit105. APT9 saw the continued support of the Asia Pacific Council (APC), the Gallery’s membership network for leaders in Australia–Asia–Pacific engagement. The APC — with the Premier of Queensland, the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, as Patron — is a group program committed to working with government and industry to build an enduring platform for the Triennial series.
