This work has ‘William and Shirley’ in the illusion of the cosmos itself – again so much concerned with the earth that a kind of mystical Adam and Eve appear, but not only with earthly connections. Heaven is reflected by stars in the sphere of William’s bald head and Shirley swims with the moon . . . The work reflects the way the earth revolves and interacts with the other spheres. Everything is ephemeral and changing. Although we are bound to the earth, we are also part of the cosmos and all creation.
