Artists speak to kids

Kids, read what these four artists have to say about their artworks within the APT 2002 exhibition.

Michael Ming Hong Lin
Taiwan b.1964

I painted a wall of flowers to welcome the visitors of the Queensland Art Gallery. Like a bouquet of flowers in the home, it is there to make us feel more comfortable.

Heri Dono
Indonesia b.1960

As a child growing up in Indonesia, I was told many stories about angels. Angels have wings and can fly wherever they want. To me, they represent the freedom to dream and imagine. Without imagination, life is very dull.

Michael Riley
Wiradjuri/Gamilaroi people
Australia b.1960

These photographs are images from my childhood memories of growing up in the country town of Dubbo. They come to me today in my dreams. I like looking at clouds — the way they move, their colours and different shapes. Next time you go outside, have a look up in the clouds and see what shapes you can see.
