Welcome to the Kids' Gallery

These children have created colourful pictures in response to artworks in the APT 2002 exhibition.

Mariah (Age 9)
I chose Michael Lin’s painting because it looked interesting and lovely and it keeps people ‘comfortable’.

Courtney (Age 9)
I chose Michael Lin’s picture because it had tone and pattern. It also had realistic features.

Angus (Age 9)
I responded to this as though it was saying everybody is different, but we all feel the same way when we are sad and when we are happy.

Ruby (Age 9)
In my picture, I have drawn repeated jacarandas because in year 11 and 12 the tests come out at the same time each year — when the jacarandas bloom. Year after year, the jacarandas bloom, exams come, jacarandas, exams, jacarandas, exams . . .

Stelio (Age 9)
I chose to respond to the angels because I think that they protect us from evil things, and that’s why we like them.

Oliver (Age 9)
I drew this picture because the man I drew had an idea but he wasn’t allowed that idea in his country so the government took away his idea.

Dominic (Age 8)
I thought of this because I just thought of a butterfly when I started.

Jamie (Age 9)
I think that my childhood is a precious thing and this was the funniest thing in it. One day, I saw a spider on the ground and it jumped to the top of a tree like 10 metres high. It was really, really funny because it looked like the spider was flying.
